Learn what makes the Original Triad 750 the best electric scooter available today.
Most of these look-a-likes try to compete with our Triad 750 SE model. Some other knock-offs literally literally stole our original larger model design to make their electric scooter look exactly like our old Triad 750 XL model. Watch out for that! Its not even close! We have since redesigned the XL model to upgrade its features for more of what our customers wanted for the CSX and Quantum Dual models.
The only True 750W 48V System
Triad Electric Vehicles is the actual manufacturer, something the other guys are not. Triad only builds the “Best in Class” most reliable, highest quality three-wheeled personal electric vehicle available. Triad Electric Vehicles is the only company that offers a "certified" 750-watt motor and a true 48v electrical system. With tons of power and stored energy to spare, the Triad 750 and Triad Quantum Dual are the most durable, longest lasting personal electric vehicle available.
There are similar looking units on the market who claim to have 750-watt motors or even 800-watt motors. But these are not actual 750-watt motors. It’s easy to see that they cannot reach the speeds or have the torque that the Triad 750 personal electric vehicle offers. The fact is that these "knock off" products are often times 270 watt or 350 watt motors that are over amped in the motor controller to draw extra power from the battery. They advertise the PEAK wattage, which if we did the same thing, our Triad 750 models would be 2250W peak, and Quantum model 3000W peak. We don't advance the stall current to provide false power like the knock-offs do. That creates internal heat, and heat is the enemy of electric motors and batteries.
Advancing the stall current and reducing the free current in the motor creates a rapid deterioration of the battery, motor and controller causing total unit failure 2-3 times faster and often times within 180 recharge cycles. That’s usually within about 6 months of daily use based on a 150 lb. operator. Increased weight capacity of the rider will cause an even faster decline of the lifespan of our competitor’s products.
Cutting corners costs you MORE!
Triad competitors don't build their vehicles, they order them. In an effort to improve their profits, those competitors order their look-a-likes from many factories with low wattage motors and cheap batteries. They rate their motors on the peak power rating by advancing the stall current of smaller 170w and 270w motors by amplifying the voltage from the batteries with the motor controller. This significantly reduces the motor's free current, which is energy drawn when the motor is rotating freely at maximum speed, under no load other than friction and back-emf forces in the motor itself.
24V components and 48V worth of batteries? Really?
You could plug your microwave into 440V of power to heat your coffee 4 times faster, but all you would end up with a broken $300 appliance for a $.10 cup of coffee.
When you put more power into a component that is not rated for that amount of power you will ultimately destroy that device. So when you see a scooter has (3) or (4) 12v batteries in succession, it doesn't require 48V to operate. All of the electrical components of those units are 24V which make it impossible to get an accurate battery charge reading and too much power from the battery causes shorts throughout the electronic components, and the total weight of the unit soars to about 120 lbs. which is nearly 2X the weight of the original Triad 750 personal electric vehicle. 500w motors and below are all 24/36 volt.
No Support
Once those knock-offs get fried, its impossible for technicians to determine the solution for any repair. You can't even determine which parts to get, much less actually source them or figure out how to rewire them without design schematics. By having an electrical system that does not have electrical continuity designed into each component, repair is unlikely. A diagnostic will only lead you down a rabbit hole of repairs and ultimately the cost of the repair will exceed the cost of a new scooter. In most instances the entire vehicle will end up being thrown away because of its built with obsolescence from day one.
